We feel lucky that CZI enables us to bring together our community in a way that helps foster collaboration and build connections, especially given the extremely distributed nature of our fellow Open Science practitioners. We’re pleased to announce a partnership with Organizational Mycology to host monthly calls for the EOSS community in the second half of 2024. We hope these community calls will offer the opportunity for EOSS grantees (past and present) to share knowledge related to software development and other aspects of running scientific open source projects. We hope to make these calls relevant and engaging for open source practitioners from various backgrounds, so we welcome project leads, staff, or active members of your communities to join us. rOpenSci was added to the Research Organization Registry (ROR) in its latest release. ROR IDs help link and disambiguate metadata about organizations in the scholarly record, much like DOIs and ORCiDs do for manuscripts and researchers.
